Subtract the earlier date from the later date. In calendar math: count each day from (and not including) the start date up to and including the end date. Biweekly paychecks result in 26 pay periods per year (except in years with 3 paycheck months). 30 days is exactly 30 days. 1 month varies: January has 31 days, February has 28 (or 29 in leap years), and most months have 30 or 31. Adding 1 month to January 31 gives February 28 — not March 2. This distinction matters for contracts, subscriptions, and legal deadlines that specify 'within 30 days' vs. 'within one month.' This calculator's 'Add to Date' mode handles variable month lengths correctly — choose months for calendar-based deadlines and days for exact-count deadlines.
